At The Naturally Kind Co., we don’t just sell bug sprays.
We create clean, kind, and effective solutions, from the ingredients inside to the packaging outside.
Our products are designed for families, pets, and planet-lovers who want real protection from troublesome insects, without compromise.
Before any product hits the shelves, it goes through rigorous community trials with mums, dads, kids, stables, kennels, and equestrian centres.
Because if it doesn’t pass the “real life” test, it doesn’t make the cut.
From home to hoof, bottle to balm – our ingredients are as kind as the results are real.
Everything you’ve ever wanted to ask about plant-powered insect repellent, baby-safe skincare, and home protection, answered honestly, without the small-print headaches. It really works!
We’re a family-led natural skincare and insect-repellent brand based across the UAE and the UK. Every product we make is built around the same promise: kind ingredients you can pronounce, formulas that actually work, and zero compromise on safety for the people (and pets) you love most.
Because we believe staying bite-free shouldn’t mean coating your family in synthetic chemicals. Our formulas lean on essential oils and plant-derived actives that have been used (and studied) for generations, blended in concentrations that do the job without the harsh aftermath.
Our range is formulated and produced in the UAE aligned to UAE and UK cosmetic standards, with each batch tested for stability and scent integrity, before it ever reaches a shelf.
Yes. We do not test on animals, and we never have. Our UAE factory also confirm the same.
Our equine FlyFree balm is tested on (and loved by) horses with the full consent of their owners, that’s about as far as our animal testing goes. 😊
Our hero actives are plant-based essential oils, primarily citronella (Cymbopogon winterianus), lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus), lemon eucalyptus (Eucalyptus citriodora), lavender, and rosemary. Each is chosen for proven repellent activity, gentle skin behaviour, or both.
We do not use DEET or Picaridin because of certain published risks of these additives.
We are a plant-based brand, and our repellents mainly rely entirely on essential-oil actives. If, you need a synthetic option for high-risk travel, your pharmacist can advise; for everyday family and outdoor use, our formulas are designed to be your daily default.
However, we have added IR 3535 to our baby cream for higher effectiveness. Labelled on our box as Butylacetylaminopropionate, is not harmful and is officially recognized as safe for babies, provided they are at least 2 months old. Major health organizations, including the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the World Health Organization (WHO), classify it with low toxicity and an excellent safety profile for young children.
The full Skin Shield, FlyFree, Haven Oil and TickFree ranges are vegan friendly. Where any ingredient could raise a question, we list it in full on the pack.
Every formula is reviewed against EU and GCC cosmetic allergen rules, and the relevant naturally occurring allergens (limonene, linalool, citronellol, geraniol, and citral) are declared on-pack. If you have a known sensitivity, please check the ingredient list on the back of each bottle before use.
Our sprays are designed to dry clean on skin. As with any oil-containing product, we recommend allowing 30–60 seconds for the spray to absorb before pulling on light-coloured or delicate fabrics. Spot test if you’re unsure.
Keep bottles upright, out of direct sunlight, and below 30°C where possible. Essential oils are happiest in cool, dark spaces; a bedroom drawer or pantry shelf is perfect.
Each product is marked with a period-after-opening (PAO) symbol on the label. As a rule of thumb, our sprays are best used within 12 months of opening and the Baby Cream within 6 months.
Skin Shield Citronella & Lemongrass is our classic family insect-repellent spray, built around citronella oil (Cymbopogon winterianus) and lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus). It’s the formula we reach for at barbecues, weekend hikes, and any moment a mosquito might think about landing.
Anyone in the family from 1 year and above. It’s the version most parents start with a familiar, bright citrus scent that kids tend to enjoy and adults already trust.
Plan on around 30 to 60 minutes of protection per application in normal conditions. Reapply more often if you’re sweating heavily, swimming, or in a particularly buggy environment.
Absolutely. Skin Shield is just as welcome on a patio dinner as it is on a desert hike. If you’d prefer to scent the room rather than your skin, our Haven Oil is built for that.
Skin Shield Lemon Eucalyptus is our grown-up sister formula, built around oil of lemon eucalyptus (Eucalyptus citriodora) as the single botanical active ingredient. It has a fresher, more herbal scent and is widely regarded as one of the most evidence-backed plant-derived repellents available.
Anyone from 1 year and above who prefers a less citrussy scent or a more “outdoor adventure” feel.
Same hydrating base, same bottle, same brand promise, the difference is the active. Citronella is the family classic with a bright, sweet citrus scent. Lemon Eucalyptus is herbier and a favourite of hikers, runners, and anyone who spends real time outdoors.
Expect 30 minutes to 1 hour of protection per application in normal conditions. Reapply after swimming, heavy sweating, or towel-drying.
If you’re new to TNKC, start with Citronella & Lemongrass, it’s the broad family default, and most people love the scent. If you’re an outdoor sports player, a hiker, or someone who has tried citronella elsewhere and didn’t love the smell, Lemon Eucalyptus is your pick.
Yes, plenty of our customers do. Citronella for the school run, the garden, and indoor evenings. Lemon Eucalyptus for the long walk, the match, or the holiday hike.
There’s no need to layer them, one or the other is plenty. If you mix at the family level (Citronella for the kids, Lemon Eucalyptus for the parents), that’s perfectly fine.
FlyFree/FlyDefence is our natural equine fly and multi insect repellent balm and spray, made for horses, ponies, camels (we even know of some cows enjoying its natural repellent powers). It blends citronella, lavender, rosemary, and lemongrass into a gentle product that can be applied directly to coat and skin
Focus on the areas flies target most: around the ears; eyes (carefully, never in them); shoulders; belly midline; and around the dock. A little goes a long way.
Most owners reapply once or twice a day during fly season, more often after heavy work, washing, or rain. Always re-check before your horse goes back out.
We’ve formulated FlyFree to be as gentle as possible, but every horse is different. Patch-test on a small area of coat first and wait 24 hours before full application.
FlyFree is formulated and tested for equine animals and dogs. We have not had it safety tested for cats or other animals. We recommend speaking with your vet before using any new product, especially essential-oil-based formulas.
Haven Oil is our home aromatic blend, designed for diffusers, oil burners, and reed-style applications. It creates a calming, naturally fragrant environment that also happens to be unappealing and repellent to flying insects.
Add a few drops to a diffuser with water, or to a traditional oil burner. Start with 3 to 5 drops and adjust to your space and preference.
Both, in a soft way. Haven Oil is primarily a home aromatic blend; the same botanicals that smell beautiful also create an environment most flying insects choose to avoid. Not for use on skin. For direct skin protection, use our Skin Shield.
Diffuse in a well-ventilated space and never apply Haven Oil directly to skin, food, or pet bedding. If you have very young children, asthma sufferers, or cats in the home, keep diffusion to short sessions in larger rooms and ventilate afterwards.
TickFree is our targeted natural tick repellent spray for Dogs, designed also for outdoor walks, hikers and also anyone heading into long grass, woodland, or tick-prone countries.
For dogs, focus on legs, underbelly and any areas prone to tick bites. For humans, focus on the lower legs, ankles, sock line, waistband, and any exposed skin below the knee. Tuck trousers into socks where you can. TickFree works best alongside good outdoor habits.
TickFree is formulated for 3 years and above. For younger children heading into tick country, use Skin Shield as your skin repellent and keep them in long sleeves, long trousers, and closed shoes.
Remove it promptly with a fine-tipped tweezer or a proper tick-removal tool, pulling steadily upward without twisting. Clean the area with antiseptic and watch for any spreading redness or flu-like symptoms in the days that follow, see your GP if either appears.
TickFree is formulated for canines and humans. Always patch test new products on your dog before using a product for full coverage.
Our Baby Cream is a gentle, nourishing skincare cream designed for the softest skin in the family. It’s a daily moisturiser for newborns and upwards, with a mosquito repellent action.
The Baby Cream is suitable from birth. As with any new product, do a small patch test on the inner arm and wait 24 hours before broader use.
It’s a soothing moisturiser rather than a medicated nappy cream. For active nappy rash, we recommend a specific zinc-based barrier cream from your pharmacist; for everyday softness and after-bath care, our Baby Cream is ideal.
It is lightly scented with the same gentle botanicals that run through our brand, kept at baby-appropriate levels. If your baby has a known sensitivity, please check the ingredient list before use.
Shake the bottle, hold around 15 cm from the skin, and spray an even mist on all exposed areas. Avoid the eye area; spray onto your palms first, then smooth over the face. Don’t forget the back of the neck, the ankles, and the tops of the feet.
Every 30 to 60 minutes in typical conditions. Reapply more often after swimming, heavy sweating, or towel-drying.
Sunscreen first, repellent on top, with a couple of minutes between them. This keeps your SPF working as intended and lets the repellent sit on the outer layer where it does its job.
Yes. Skin Shield dries quickly and behaves well over most make-up. For the face, spray onto your fingertips and press in gently rather than misting directly onto a made-up face.
Most plant-based repellents are considered low-risk during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but every pregnancy is different. We recommend a quick chat with your midwife or GP before adding any new product to your routine, especially in the first trimester.
Both Skin Shield variants, Citronella & Lemongrass and Lemon Eucalyptus, are suitable from 1 year old and above per the on-pack guidance. For babies under 12 months, we have our Skin Shield Baby Cream, or you can use physical protection: long sleeves, light cotton, a pram net, and avoiding peak mosquito hours.
Spray onto your own hands first, then smooth over your child’s exposed skin, avoiding the eye area, lips, and any broken or irritated skin. Wash off at the end of the day with their normal soap and water.
The bigger biting window in the UAE runs from October through April, when humidity and standing water create ideal mosquito conditions and people are spending more time outdoors. Coastal evenings can be the busiest for biting, keep Skin Shield in your bag.
UK mosquitoes (and Highland midges, which are even more enthusiastic) are most active May through September, peaking around dusk and dawn.
Yes, our 100 ml travel sizes fit hand luggage liquid rules. The 250 ml bottles will need to go in hold luggage.
Yes. Heat and humidity can shorten the duration of any repellent, synthetic or natural, so plan to reapply a little more often in tropical or Gulf conditions.
